Biography
Roser Sales Noguera currently lives and works in Barcelona, although her artistic career passes through England, Spain and the United States.
With a degree in Fine Arts, she has focused her artistic work on engraving and drawing. Her work is closely linked to nature, to which she feels linked and is its main reference: “It is the expression of those moments so intimate, in which nothing moves, so intense and sublime.”
“Hence my admiration for the German romantic painter Caspar David Friedrich (eighteenth century), for whom nature is his whole world of feelings and expression; and by the Lands Art movement (twentieth century), especially the British one, not so dramatic and at the same time not so far from
the romantic vision, in which art is a union with the landscape, which is part of the work, even physically, as in Andy Goldsworthy, Hamish Fulton, Tony Cragg…
And, going back, I also admire medieval artists such as Giotto or Lorenzetti – my favourite – in whom the landscape, even if it is a religious painting, is presented to us as a great symbol, or as a scenario that helps to explain the greatness of the moment.”
“With my artistic research, which is neither realistic nor naturalistic, I intend to capture that moment and, for this, observation is necessary.”
