Studio Space

The Space

The Printmaking workshop is a working area for artists with or without previous experience in printmaking, where work can be done in printmaking, silkscreen and photopolymers.

The workshop has a surface area of 180 m2 and is divided up into different sections:
—the inking area, where the  presses are located, for printing;
—Area for  acids, where work can be done using different metals (zinc, copper and iron) with iron perchloride or nitric acid.
—and another, quieter area with drawing desks, etc.

Silkscreen work has its own section for insolating and preparing the screens, and also for printing.

Equipment and material

The workshop has two presses, measuring 80 x 200 cm and 130 x 200 cm respectively, that are suitable for large formats, and also for printmaking work , photogravure  , woodcut and linoleum.
The workshop supplies all the basic material: acids, solvents, resins, varnishes, black ink (not coloured inks); but not personal tools such as needles, or blotting paper.
For silkscreen only the emulsifying agents and screen recuperation equipment are supplied, and not the screens or inks (although artists will be informed about where they can purchase the necessary materials).

Location

Near to the centre of Barcelona, in Gracia quarter and very easy to reach by metro (L5 «Joanic» stop) or by bus, on a quiet street, Josep Torres, 25.
